Leave your legacy

Planned gifts

Legacies are made when we embrace our history and envision our future. A legacy is about carving out a place for yourself to be remembered while investing in the growth of others.

As part of your long-term financial planning, a planned gift can offer you substantial tax and estate planning benefits, and allow you to make a longer and more lasting gift to the Friends of the Bowl Foundation. It can be a gift the Friends of the Bowl Foundation receives now, or in the future.

We can assist you in choosing the right planned gift option.

When you transfer securities or mutual funds to the Foundation, you’ll receive a charitable tax receipt for the full market value on eligible donations. Donations of publicly traded securities are not subject to capital gains tax.

You can give by including the Foundation as a beneficiary in your will. A charitable bequest ensures your legacy lives on and can also significantly reduce the tax payable by your estate. We can provide sample will clauses for your convenience.

You have the option to transfer ownership of an existing life insurance policy that is no longer required for your family’s financial security. You’ll receive a charitable tax receipt for the value of the policy. If you wish to remain the owner of the policy, your estate can receive a charitable tax receipt by naming the Foundation the beneficiary.

You can name the Foundation as the beneficiary of your RRSPs, RRIFs & TFSAs and receive a charitable tax receipt.
